We're converting vacant buildings into indoor vertical farms to provide fresh, healthy produce for people living in the food deserts of Cincinnati, OH.
The urban farm is one of many initiatives St. Al’s will pursue to build momentum for a vibrant campus. Hands-on training and education for volunteers and young people will align with STEM + Arts (STEAM) curriculums important to future jobs in agriculture and business.
Through a partnership with Neighborhood Grow, a nonprofit community economic development organization, Brick Gardens will expand resident engagement, fostering a sense of collaboration and community identity, education on local economies, and neighborliness activities sustained through partnerships with community-based institutions and businesses.
